Elite IMG Academy Cornerback Desmond Ricks Announces Top Picks, Includes Jackson State

The five star high school sophomore shocks the college football world on Monday via Twitter

Jackson State continues to shine and receive positive attention to their football program led by head coach Deion "Prime Time" Sanders. 

With Coach Sanders' second season under his belt, the Tigers have gained recognition in the Southwestern Atlantic Conference and have high hopes this season to be ranked alongside the top D1 schools. 

The HBCU football program has been named as a finalist for IMG Academy's elite cornerback Desmond Ricks. IMG Academy is known for its top notch athletes, and the young talent is no exception. 

This past Monday on his Twitter account, he retweeted a post from his mother confirming his top 10 picks. The anticipated announcement has shaken the college football world, as he did not mention Florida State, the in-state rivals to Florida and Miami. Along with JSU, the other picks included Alabama, Florida, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and USC.

Ricks, ranked as the No. 2 player in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Florida, is clearly one of the top tier players in the 2024 recruiting class.

Ricks will have all eyes on him as he enters the 2022-2023 season, and will begin to narrow down his choices. 

If Ricks chooses Jackson State to play for his college career, there’s no telling how far the talented athlete could go, as we are witnessing a star being born.
